Hi! I’m Julie. This is my story, in the making.
My last day in the corporate world was on June 23, 2020. At the time, it was simply my last day – the end of another corporate chapter. What I didn’t realize was a whole new book was in the making. And the author? Someone I don’t know well, but who I’m eager to learn more about.
Preface
Growing up, I knew I wanted to work in an industry where I could help others: A teacher, a social worker, a school counselor, etc. This surprised no one – it was simply who I was.
I lost my way in college as I didn’t feel smart enough to teach others, and there was no way a master’s degree was in my future. Nope – I could not do that! So, I landed on the most general major I could find, mass communication, and started my career in the crazy world of advertising.
Don’t get me wrong, agency life is a BLAST. It’s fast-paced, has a cool vibe, and is filled with plenty of cold beer. That said, I found I was more interested in the personal growth and development of my team and clients vs. the actual creative work. After working with a career coach myself, I experienced my first “ah-ha moment” - The ROI of a human being outweighs the ROI of anything else in life. It was this insight that uncovered my desire to transition into HR.
I spent the last 5 1/2 years of my corporate career in HR. It was the right next step, but MY WHY is more personal than corporate. MY WHY is about taking the time for an individual, to help them create and experience the joy they’ve always wanted.
In this new book I’m creating, I’m choosing to live MY WHY fully and own who I am.

“You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.”
