How I Play the Game of Life
“Walk My Talk” is my monthly video series where I take a chance and spin what I call the “wheel of opportunities” and do whatever I land on either live or I take on a challenge throughout the course of the month.
As a coach, I am constantly encouraging my clients to push their comfort zone by 10% or do something that feels slightly out of reach. I want to show you all that I too am pushing my comfort zone and “walking my talk” every single day.
Walk My Talk is BAAAACK! My word of the year is MOMENTUM and what better way to build it than by putting myself out there. Hope you're excited!
Episode 47: To aim big, you first need to aim small, which is actually what I'm doing this week. I'm committing to SMALL steps in helping me achieve a BIG goal of putting on a workshop. Are you working on something challenging or perhaps avoiding something big? If so, what's something small you can commit to in order to get going?
Episode 46: With a new EARLY morning routine, I've been really trying to focus on rest and sleep. This week's challenge is all in support of that.
How much sleep do you get per night?
Episode 45: I'm very proud of my progress from last week. While I didn't finish a book, as the wheel suggested, I did USE a book the way it was meant to be used -- by actually doing the exercises at the end of the chapters.
This week, I'm bringing back a morning ritual which for one reason or another fell off my radar at the end of last year - morning meditation.
Episode 44: First off, THANK YOU for all the kind words and referrals last week! I'm currently reading 3 books this week and am committing to finishing 1 -- woohoo!
Episode 43: This week’s Walk My Talk is definitely a stretch (and it’s a “5 take” kind of week – hence the deflated look at the beginning😫). As a solopreneur I try to find the balance between sharing my stories, demonstrating my expertise, and straight up promoting my services. Today, I’m looking directly at you and I’m asking for a referral.
Episode 42: This week, I have the honor of giving a shout out to a friend's business. I'm honored to shout out, Remy Zaccaria the founder and owner of Remy Doll Beauty: https://www.remydollbeauty.com/ -- her candles are AMAZING!
Episode 41: This week I'll be doing some internal work as I bring back journaling -- a habit that I started, stopped and want to pick back up!
Episode 40: The wheel is back! I took a week off for some R&R in sunny Costa Rica (which BTW, was A - M - A - Z - I - N - G).
This week, I'm focusing on keeping my "reader" label and am going to join a book club. I haven't decided if it's going to be for socializing or for networking (which for me means casual reading vs. business reading) - do you have a preference?
Episode 39: You'll notice I'm trying to make excuses for this week's challenge. But I'm here to "walk my talk," not make excuses. I don't love workout challenges, but I keep them on the wheel to stretch myself -- it's never unrealistic, just enough to make it, well, a stretch! Wish me luck.
Episode 38: Based on last week's challenge to "try something new", I now know why people love the Peloton App. Great classes and instructors! I'm also super excited to have my FIRST styling consult.
This week is a networking challenge. Who do you want to connect with, or in my case, re-connect with?
Episode 37: Well, technology was against me today, so this is my second take. Since I already spun the wheel, I decided against spinning a second time just for the video. So, no wheel, but there's still a challenge! "Try something new this week." The format of this video today is new, so I guess that's one thing down. Excited to see what else I come up with...any ideas?
Episode 36: Happy New Year everyone! The Wheel of Opportunities is back. This week I'm focusing on a very simple yet not easy task: SAYING NO!
Episode 35: This is the grand finale of the special GIVING edition of “Walk My Talk” where the “Wheel of Kindness” took over for the “Wheel of Opportunities” over the last 4 weeks. My guest Gaadeh and I had so much fun giving back through surprise meals to friends, gift cards to strangers, cards to hospitals and more!
Episode 34: Week 3 of the "Wheel of Kindness"! Gaadeh and I are having so much fun! So far, we've...
💁♀️ Done a chore for someone
🍗🍲 Surprised a friend with a homemade meal
😊 Complimented strangers
⛄❄ Made 20 holiday cards for a children's hospital
Episode 33: The Wheel of KINDNESS continues…Gaadeh and I had so much fun with our challenges last week and were super excited to tackle these challenges – complimenting strangers and writing cards to hospitals!
Episode 32: Tis the season for GIVING! Nov 30 - Dec 21, my special guest, Gaadeh Abouarabi and I will be spinning the Wheel of KINDNESS!
Episode 31: I am happy to say that becoming a “reader” is becoming more and more real. Last week I spun the wheel and landed on “finish a book you started…” and that I did! I finished “Think Again” by Adam Grant. Great read if you’re in the market for a new book. This week, I’m committing to something I’ve been avoiding all month and because of that, I’m doing a 2 for 1. New blog posts (plural!) are coming over the next week!
Episode 30: I used to not consider myself a reader and now I read about 10-15 mins everyday. During this challenge, I committed to finishing a book I started. Want to join me?
Episode 29: Well, the previous week was a bit of a bust. Instead of judging myself, I am chose to laugh it off and recognize it was not a challenge I was ready and willing to take on. And ya know what? That's A-OK! 👌 I decided it was a new week and was absolutely ready and willing for this challenge. 💪
#NETWORKING
Episode 28: This week is a technology challenge. No phone before 8am and after 8pm. You'll see how I adjust the goal slightly, based on the time zone I'll be in this week. How do you feel when you disconnect from technology?
Episode 27: I got my steps during this challenge, despite the cold and rainy Chicago weather.
Episode 26: I was challenged to shop local this week, which was definitely more of an opportunity than a challenge -- it was fun!
Episode 25: I worked out my brain extra hard this week, switching up my routines. Are you a creature of habit or do you prefer to switch things up?
Episode 24: This challenge was definitely both physical and mental -- I went back to the gym! At home workouts have been fine, and I've even started to run a bit as well, but nothing beats an in-studio workout. Ready or not, here I come 😷💪😅 What's something you've been avoiding that you'd like to commit to this week?
Episode 23: In this episode, I had the honor of telling an inspiring story about my mom. It’s a little longer than usual, but the takeaway is quick: Other people see things in you that you sometimes can’t see yourself. Dig deep. It’s there. And when all else fails, just keep swimming. You got this.
